Elizabeth Banks is attached to star as a female photographer stranded on an island for 30 years.

Yosuke Kubozuka will star opposite Elizabeth Banks in Sloane U’Ren’s adventure drama Rita Hayworth With a Hand Grenade.

Banks is starring as war photographer Caroline Baker, who is shot down and stranded on a South Pacific island with only one other inhabitant, a marooned Japanese soldier (Kubozuka). The pair evolve from sworn enemies to reluctant allies as they remain stranded on the island for decades.

Radiant Films International is selling the film at the market, while UTA Independent Film Group is handling domestic rights. The project is eyeing a fall 2016 shoot.

Rita Hayworth with a Hand Grenade will serve as Sloane U’Ren's sophomore feature film after helming 2011’s Dimensions. Antony Neely wrote the script, and Robert Graf is producing.

Kubozuka co-stars with Liam Neeson, Adam Driver and Andrew Garfield in Martin Scorsese’s Paramount film Silence. The popular Japanese actor has worked on a slew of films and won two Awards from the Japanese Academy for his performance in Go.
