Betsey Johnson's New Kids Collection Is as Over-the-Top and Pink as You'd Hope
Because when it comes to leopard print, there's no such thing as "too young."
What does a kids collection by Betsey Johnson look like, you ask? Well, it looks a lot like her adult collections, to be honest.
The 73-year-old designer, who recently moved to Malibu from New York City, has partnered with Babies R' Us on a colorful collection for infants (sized 2T-5T) that includes all of her signatures: tulle, sparkle, faux fur and leather, as well as some of her favorite kitschy prints — think: a lipstick motif and leopard print — all available in hot pink, of course.
“I am thrilled to partner with Babies R' Us on launching my first baby collection! I can’t wait to see my designs on little kiddos everywhere,” Johnson said in a release.
The designer, who told Paper mag last year that she made the cross-country move to SoCal to be closer to her daughter and grandkids, was inspired by the tots in her life when creating the collection — which comes as no surprise, considering she loves to show them off on the runway.
An added bonus: The collection is acrobatics-approved, so no need to worry about busting a seam while doing the splits.
