Fans to Join Beyonce Onstage During Super Bowl Halftime Show
Pepsi announced a photo contest that will allow 100 fans to join the singer Feb. 3 in New Orleans.
Beyonce's Super Bowl halftime show is about to get bigger.
On Friday, Pepsi announced a fan contest that will give 100 fans the chance to join the singer onstage Feb. 3 at New Orleans' Superdome when she performs at Super Bowl XLVII, the Associated Press reports.
The contest officially begins Saturday, when fans can submit images of themselves in various poses to be used in a television commercial for Beyonce's performance. Fifty people, who will be able to bring a guest with them, then will be chosen to join the singer onstage.
The photo contest ends Jan. 19, but for those who hope to join Beyonce onstage, images must be submitted by Jan. 11.
It was revealed in October that the 16-time Grammy winner would take the stage at the world's biggest concert gig after an image was posted of her wearing eye black with "Feb 3" and "2013" written on it.
Madonna played this year's Super Bowl halftime show, joined by Cee Lo Green, M.I.A., LMFAO and Nicki Minaj. That game, in which the New York Giants beat the New England Patriots, drew more than 112.5 million viewers to become the most-watched television program in U.S. history.
Recent Super Bowl halftime performers have included The Black Eyed Peas, The Who, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Prince, U2, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, The Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney. The 2004 show will long be remembered for Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction.
