Tim Burton's 2003 film Big Fish will be making its way on to Broadway.

Oscar-winning producers Dan Jinks and Bruce Cohen will produce Big Fish, a musical based on the book by Daniel Wallas that was adapted for the big screen by writer John August, for a targeted Broadway bow in spring 2012.

The stage musical will be directed and choreographed by Susan Stroman, with music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa and a book by August.

Big Fish centers on Edward Bloom, whose impossible stories of his life's epic adventures frustrate his son Will. Now, with Edward on his deathbed, Will is forced to embark on his own journey to find out who his father is.
