Bill Condon boards 'The C-Word'

Pilot reunites director with 'Kinsey' co-star Laura Linney

Oscar-winning writer-director Bill Condon has been tapped to helm "The C-Word," Showtime's comedy pilot starring Laura Linney.

The project, from Sony TV and Original Film, stars Linney as a suburban wife and mother recently diagnosed with cancer who tries to find the light side of a dark situation.

The pilot's writer Darlene Hunt is exec producing with Neal H. Moritz, Vivian Cannon and Linney.

"The C Word" reunites Linney with Condon who directed her in her Oscar-nominated supporting role in 2004's "Kinsey."

Condon won an Oscar for writing "Gods and Monsters." He also penned and directed "Dreamgirls."
