Bill Cosby's Daughter Defends Comedian: "He Is the Father You Thought You Knew"
Evin Cosby issues a statement and takes to social media to back her family
Bill Cosby's daughter Evin Cosby defended her father on Tuesday as "the FATHER you thought you knew." The statement, issued to Access Hollywood, followed her mother's statement on Monday that said the comedian "is the man you thought you knew."
"He is the FATHER you thought you knew. The Cosby Show was my today's TV reality show. Thank you. That's all I would like to say :)," Evin Cosby's statement read.
She also took to social media to write about the sexual assault allegations against her father and thank those who have supported her family.
More than 20 women have publicly claimed Bill Cosby drugged and/or sexually assaulted them over a period spanning several decades. One of those women has filed a police report and lawsuit in Los Angeles against the comedian, alleging he assaulted her at the Playboy Mansion in 1974, when she was 15 years old.
Bill Cosby’s lawyer, Martin Singer, has denied the women’s claims and questioned the accusers' credibility.
On Monday, Evin Cosby wrote about rape and false claims on her Facebook page, as CNN and Access Hollywood have noted.
