Director Barry Levinson's comedy Rock the Kasbah, featuring an ensemble cast led by Bill Murray, will hit theaters nationwide on April 24, 2015.

Open Road Films is distributing the film in the U.S.

Murray stars opposite Bruce Willis, Kate Hudson, Zooey Deschanel, Danny McBride and Scott Caan, who replaced Shia Labeouf.

Rock the Kasbah, written by Mitch Glazer, follows a washed-up rock manager (Murray) who takes his last remaining client on a USO tour of Afghanistan. When he finds himself in Kabul, abandoned, penniless and without his passport, he discovers a young girl with an extraordinary voice and manages her through Afghanistan's version of American Idol, the wildly popular Afghan Star.

QED’s Bill Block, Venture Forth’s Jacob Pechenik, Shangri-La Entertainment’s Steve Bing and Glazer are producing.

News of the release date comes on the same day that the Toronto Film Festival announced that Sept. 5 will be "Bill Murray Day." The actor's upcoming comedy St. Vincent is making its world premiere that day at the festival, while Stripes, Groundhog Day and Ghostbusters will also screen.
