Billboard Music Awards 2014: Justin Timberlake Thanks Everyone 'Except Donald Sterling'
After sparking a media frenzy last month, the shamed Clippers owner even got a mention at the awards show when Timberlake singled him out during his acceptance speech.
Justin Timberlake not only received multiple Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, he also won the prize for one of the best acceptance speeches by mentioning controversial Clippers owner Donald Sterling.
"It is not a competition, but if it was, I won. I want to thank everyone on Earth, except Donald Sterling," said the witty singer, as he appeared via satellite from his current tour.
Sports fanatic Timberlake, 33, walked away with the top artist honor at the awards ceremony, which was held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
He appeared in a total of 11 categories and beat out Miley Cyrus, Imagine Dragons, Bruno Mars, and Katy Perry for top artist.
Earlier in the night, the singer won the top album award and instead of expressing his gratitude by speaking, he sang about it.
"I'm shocked. I'm stunned. I'm really surprised," said the 20/20 Experience winner.
"We don't even wanna say thank you. We wanna sing thank you," he revealed, before knocking out a surprise performance with the help of a group of back-up singers.
