Billboard Music Awards 2016: Ariana Grande, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani to Perform
This year’s ceremony will air live at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Sunday, May 22, from TMobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Ariana Grande, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have been added to the lineup of performers for the 2016 Billboard Music Awards.
Grande will use the platform of the awards ceremony to perform new music from her forthcoming third album, Dangerous Woman. Due out May 20, Dangerous Woman is the follow-up to the pop singer’s No. 1 album My Everything, released in September 2014. (Her debut effort, Yours Truly, also topped the Billboard 200 in September 2013.)
Meanwhile, Shelton and Stefani are confirmed to deliver their duet "Go Ahead and Break My Heart,” a song they wrote and perform on Shelton's tenth and most recent album, If I'm Honest. The Voice judges and offscreen lovers warmed up for the BBMAs with a performance of the song live on Monday night's episode of the talent quest on NBC.
Grande, Shelton and Stefani join a bill of previously announced performers which includes Justin Bieber, Celine Dion, DNCE, Fifth Harmony, The Go-Go’s, Demi Lovato, Shawn Mendes, Pink, Britney Spears and Troye Sivan. Also on the night, Nick Jonas and Tove Lo are confirmed for a collaboration, Celine Dion will be on hand to receive the ICON Award and Madonna will pay tribute to Prince.
This year’s ceremony will air live on ABC at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Sunday, May 22, from TMobile Arena in Las Vegas. It will be hosted by BBMA vet Ludacris and first-time host Ciara and produced by dick clark productions. The Weeknd is out in front as a finalist 19 times in 16 categories.
