Charli XCX Celebrates "Pussy Power" at Billboard's Women in Music

"It's really cool to be at a music industry event where over half the people in the room have vaginas"

Paramore's Hayley Williams was thrilled to introduce Charli XCX to the Cipriani Wall Street stage, as the singer accepted the Hitmaker Honor at the Billboard Women in Music event Friday.

"I for one am so excited to hear a girl on the radio who sings poppy songs on the radio with a real punk edge," Williams noted as she congratulated an excited Charli XCX.

She took her moment on the stage to make a point about the amount of women in the music industry. "Wow i'm so nervous!," Charli XCX happily told the audience."It's really cool to be at a music industry event where over half the people in the room have vaginas. P---y power!"

Charli XCX also noted what the honor meant to her: "To be recognized for my work as a songwriter is really incredible because that's something i care about so much. ... It's been fabulous and f--king wild. Every single woman in this room is so incredible."
