Billy Bob Thornton's Daughter Amanda Brumfield Convicted of Manslaughter
But she was found not guilty of first-degree murder after a 1-year-old died in her care in 2008.
Billy Bob Thornton's estranged daughter Amanda Brumfield has been convicted of manslaughter in the death of a friend's baby girl, the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Amanda Brumfield, 32, was found not guilty of first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse after 1-year-old Olivia Madison Garcia fell out of her playpen while under her care in October 2008.
The prosecution made the case that it was "impossible" a fall from the short height resulted in the three-and-a-half inch fracture in the back of Olivia's skull, leading to bleeding and swelling in her brain. They argued the fall aggravated a prior injury.
The jury deliberated for one week. Brumfield will face sentencing in July.
Brumfield was convicted in the same courthouse where Casey Anthony is under trial for the murder of her daughter, Caylee.
