Madison Square Garden has announced a record-breaking 13th show in the ongoing Billy Joel "franchise" residency at the arena, breaking his own record of 12 shows in a series from 2006. The Jan. 9 show extends Joel's residency into 2015, with tickets on sale Friday, Nov. 14. Each show to date has sold out quickly, with the 10 shows that have been reported so far grossing more than $20 million and moving 186,373 tickets, according to Billboard Boxscore.

The Jan. 9 show will be Joel's 59th overall performance at the Garden; the current record for shows at the famed arena is held by Elton John at 64 performances. In an ongoing partnership, Citi cardmembers will have exclusive access to a presale beginning Nov. 10 via citiprivatepass.com. The concerts are being promoted by MSG Entertainment in association with AEG Live and Q104.3 as a media partner.

To celebrate the franchise, MSG Network will debut Billy Joel Home at the Garden, a half-hour special capturing the first year of Joel's groundbreaking franchise run at Madison Square Garden with behind-the-scenes footage and interviews from his performances on Nov. 10 immediately following the Knicks home game against the Atlanta Hawks.

Adding the 13th Garden show tops Joel's 12 performances from 2006, which grossed $19.2 million and sold 226,038 tickets, according to Boxscore.
