Blairwood Entertainment and Nomine Films Form Alliance (Cannes)
French production and distribution company will act as acquisition agents for the Los Angeles-based firm.
CANNES -- Blairwood Entertainment has struck up an alliance with Nomine Films, the French producer and distributor.
Nomine, headed by founders Raphael Nomine and Garance Salle, will act as acquisition agents for Blairwood, the Los Angeles-based production and distribution company, which is making its first visit to the Cannes Film Market. The arrangement also includes a first-look deal for Nomine’s original projects.
“With our alliance with Nominé Films, Blairwood begins to expand their presence in Europe, as well as accomplish another goal, the start of a short films division,” James Dudelson, Blairwood’s president and CEO, said.
Nominé Films, which also fronts some of the largest filmmakers’ networks in Europe such as the Cineaste.org, Collectif Prod and Diners de Garance, reps such clients such as Buffalo Corp’s Matthieu Lalande, known for such shorts as The Man That Never Loses, Haiku and Survivor’s Chronicles.
