With the anticipation of Blake Lively's new lifestyle website, Preserve, expected to launch next week, the actress-turned-entrepreneur isn't worried about what people have to say about her new venture.
"I'm sure there will be plenty of people who will say horrible things. I'm sure this interview will be picked apart. But you can't worry about it," she says in Vogue's August issue, appearing on the fashion bible's cover for the third time.
Knowing that she'll likely be compared to Gwyneth Paltrow for her own Goop-like site, she adds: "I'm always the first person to defend Gwyneth Paltrow. Or any woman in a position of power, like Martha Stewart or Oprah, who gets burned. Because they have paved the path for so many other women who are doing something they believe in." Preach, girl, preach.
While the name for her new site still reminds us of preserved jam, we can see how the word holds a special meaning for the red-carpet style maven who shares how husband Ryan Reynolds helped change her perspective of a disastrous incident into a memorable moment from their wedding. When the front of her gown caught fire from sparklers and left a burn mark, he told her, "You’ll always remember that moment with Florence [Welch] singing and the sparklers. You have that forever, right there, preserved."
