Block party: 'Doodlebops' play ITV1

TORONTO -- Canadian animation producer Cookie Jar Entertainment has sold the preschool series "The Doodlebops" to Britain's ITV1 for its Good Morning TV block on Saturday mornings. The show will begin airing April 7.

A weekday launch on GMTV2 will follow this summer, Toronto-based Cookie Jar said Tuesday.

The British licensing deal follows "The Doodlebops," a cartoon series about a musical trio comprised of siblings DeeDee, Rooney and Moe, first airing in Britain on satellite and cable through Playhouse Disney U.K.

The Canadian cartoon series also airs on Playhouse Disney U.S., the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. and VRAK TV in Canada, and Disney channels in Australia, Italy and Latin America.
