'Bloom' grows for 2929
Empty2929 International has planted Vadim Perelman's hot Toronto fest acquisition title "In Bloom" in 15 territories worldwide.
The director's first feature since "House of Sand and Fog" follows the survivor (Uma Thurman) of a Columbine high school-style rampage near the 15th anniversary of the shooting. The story jumps between her present-day torment and her experiences with a friend during the event. Evan Rachel Wood plays the younger survivor, and Eva Amurri plays her high school friend.
The film was presold to Benelux (MS Trading/Paradiso), Canada (TVA Films), Eastern Europe (MGN/Paradise), Israel (United King), France (Metropolitan), Greece (Odeon), Indonesia (PT Amero), Italy (Media Film), Japan (Desperado), Korea (Pan Cinema), Middle East (ECS), Portugal (Lusomundo), Spain (Manga), Thailand (Jbic) and Turkey (Aqua Group).
