Bob Dylan Announces Release of New Album on September 11
The singer is set to release his 35th studio album on September 11th, 50 years after his debut as a studio recording artist.
After five decades in the biz, Bob Dylan announced the upcoming release of his 35th studio album Tempest on Tuesday.
This will be Dylan’s first release since his 2009 album, Together Through Life. The album will celebrate 50 years since the legend released his self-titled debut in 1962.

Tempest is written by Dylan and produced under the pseudonym “Jack Frost,” which Dylan has given himself for production credits on all of his albums since the '90s.
Since his last album in 2009, Dylan has continued on “The Never Ending Tour,” which began in June 1988. In April of this year, Dylan celebrated the tour’s 25th anniversary in Rio De Janerio, Brazil. This leg of the tour ends July 22 and Dylan will then perform in the states for the following month.
Tempest puts Dylan back on the music map. The legendary sound he familiarized in the early '60s is carried on in this album, proving that there isn’t anything like Dylan’s sound and style in mainstream music today. He remains one the most influential musical and cultural figures of the 20th century.

"There is not a bigger giant in the history of American music,” President Obama said when he honored Dylan with the Medal of Freedom in a White House ceremony in May. The award, noted as the nation’s highest civilian honor, recognized Dylan for his significant cultural contributions in the past decade.
Tempest is currently available for pre-order on Itunes and Amazon and will be released on Sept. 11.
