Whitney Houston's Daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown to Recur on Tyler Perry Comedy Series
She will appear in TBS' "For Better or Worse," which is slated for a summer return.
Whitney Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown is headed to scripted TV.
Brown will appear in the TBS comedy series Tyler Perry's For Better or Worse in a recurring capacity, Tyler Perry's rep confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter. No details were given as to who the 19-year-old will play or when she begins filming.
In an interview with Oprah Winfrey on OWN's Oprah's Next Chapter this month, Brown shared that she wanted to follow in her mother's footsteps and "carry on the legacy."
"We're gonna do the singing thing,” Brown told Winfrey. “Some acting, some dancing."
In February, the cable network ordered 35 additional episodes of For Better or Worse, which centers on the ups and downs of marriage and dating. The comedy stars Michael Jai White, Tasha Smith, Kent Faulcon, Crystle Stewart, Kiki Haynes and Jason Olive.
For Better or Worse, which debuted Nov. 25 and averaged 2.9 million viewers in its 10-episode freshman run, is slated for a summer return on TBS. It is Perry's third series with the network, joining House of Payne and Meet the Browns; the latter ended last year.
The announcement doesn't come as a surprise, as Perry was one of the speakers at the Houston funeral in New Jersey last month. "If there was a grace that carried her through," Perry said during the service, "it was the same grace that carried her home." The singer died Feb. 11 at 48.
