Just 8 months old, Bobbi Kristina Houston Brown made an appearance in a 1993 Barbara Walters special. The camera zoomed in on Bobbi Kristina in her crib, with her grandmother, Cissy Houston, taking care of her. Bobbi Kristina then joined her parents for part of their interview with Walters. Still a baby, Bobbi Kristina joined her mom on TV again at the 1994 American Music Awards, accompanying her parents to the show where her mom won eight awards. She stayed in the audience when Houston won her first award and received a kiss from her mom backstage before Houston went out to accept her second trophy. After she won her third award, Houston carried Bobbi Kristina onstage with her to make her acceptance speech.
"I couldn't leave her; she started crying," Houston said as she propped Bobbi Kristina up on her hip and occasionally admonished her not to grab the microphone.

Bobbi Kristina talks about her mother's death on Oprah's Next Chapter.
Just a month after her mother died, Bobbi Kristina talked about the "surreal" experience on Oprah's Next Chapter.
While she admitted that she sometimes would still call out for her mom, Bobbi Kristina said of her mother's death, "I've accepted it." She also recalled that on her last day with her mom, her mom slept next to her all night and the next day. "They said that she was rubbing my head, just holding me … and I slept in her arms," Bobbi Kristina said.
She also took the opportunity to defend her mother against her critics.
"We have so many people saying so many other things but they don't know who she really was," Bobbi Kristina said. "I want people to know that everything people are saying about her and all that negativity, it's garbage. That's not my mother. They just want to talk, and they want to say what they want to say and do whatever they want to do. But in reality I know who she really was. Her family knows who she was."
