Toronto: Bold Films to Finance Ben Younger's Racing Thriller 'Isle of Man'
The 'Bleed for This' filmmaker wrote the script and will direct and produce.
Ben Younger, the filmmaker behind the Miles Teller boxing movie Bleed for This, is one step closer to getting his motorcycle thriller Isle of Man revving.
Bold Films, the entity behind such movies as Jake Gyllenhaal’s Nightcrawler, has come aboard to finance the project, which Younger wrote and will direct and produce.
The plot revolved around an American motorcycle racer who comes out of retirement to compete in a dangerous race, the famed Isle of Man TT, near the Irish Sea. Younger has been working on the project since the 2000s.
Bold Films’ Michel Litvak and Gary Michael Walters will produce with Michael De Luca.
Johnny Pariseau will oversee the project for De Luca Productions. Jon Oakes will oversee the project for Bold Films.
Younger is eyeing a March 2017 start.
“I’m thrilled to be partnering with Bold Films on what is an absolute passion project,” said Younger in a statement. “The TT is the last, great, dangerous race on Earth and I am excited by the idea of bringing this new world to a general audience. Over 200 racers have lost their lives on this Island. I want to do their stories justice.”
“Isle of Man is a muscular action film wrapped around a great character journey that exemplifies the Bold brand,” said Walters.
