Shiney Ahuja was sentenced to seven years in prison for raping his 20-year-old maid.
NEW DELHI -- Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja, 38, was granted bail by the Bombay High Court Wednesday in an ongoing case where he was given a seven-year jail term last month for raping his maid. The actor was asked to post a bail amount of 50,000 rupees ($1,100).

Still on the rise, Ahuja made his film debut with 2004's acclaimed arthouse release Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi (A Thousand Desires) followed by mainstream outings like 2006's Gangster. Among his upcoming projects is horror film The Accident produced by Mumbai-based banner Pritish Nandy Communications and U.K.-based High Point Media.
