'Bones' Spinoff Loses Saffron Burrows
Fox has decided to reimagine the actress’ role on “The Finder.”
British actress Saffron Burrows is exiting Fox’s Bones spinoff, The Finder.
Burrows, who recently appeared in Law & Order: Criminal Intent, played Geoff Stults’ right-hand woman Ike, a bar owner who knows how to fly helicopters, in the pilot — which aired as the 19th episode of Bones earlier this season.
But the network ultimately decided to rework the role before series launches later this year when Bones goes on a mini hiatus, sources confirm to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Finder isn’t the first show this season dealing with recastings at this time of year.
Another rookie Fox show, New Girl, will have to recast Damon Wayans Jr., whose modestly-rated ABC comedy Happy Endings was renewed and was put in the plum post-Modern Family slot this fall. NBC’s upcoming comedy BFFs will also need to find a replacement for Endings co-star Adam Pally.
