Warner Bros. has pinned senior vp stripes on TV marketing and promotions veteran Sonia Borris, making her the No. 2 television marketing executive at the studio.

Borris, who has been vp marketing and promotions at Warner Bros. Worldwide Television Marketing for the past two years, has been upped to the newly created position of senior vp marketing and operations at the WTM unit. She reports to Lisa Gregorian, executive vp worldwide marketing at Warner Bros. Television Group.

As Gregorian's second in command at the WTM unit, Borris will manage the day-to-day operations of the group. She will continue to supervise its marketing, promotions, product integration and client services teams and add oversight of business operations. WTM, formed in January 2006, is a full-service, in-house agency providing marketing and promotional counsel to WBTVG's production divisions, distribution units and media sales division.

"Sonia is an extremely talented executive with valuable business and creative experience on both the studio and network sides of the marketing equation," Gregorian said, "and she has done an outstanding job overseeing marketing, promotions and client services for our group."

At Warner Bros., Borris has been instrumental in the development and production of several marketing and promotional campaigns, including integrated promotions and original digital programming extensions with such blue-chip advertisers as Toyota, Verizon Wireless, Procter & Gamble, Unilever and AT&T on behalf of several WBTVG series, including "Smallville," "One Tree Hill," "Supernatural" and "The O.C."

Before joining the WTM unit, Borris was at WB Network for seven years, rising through the ranks to become vp integrated marketing.

She also has held positions at Fox Consumer Products and Buena Vista Television.
