The Warner Bros. Television Group has promoted Brett Bouttier to the newly created post of senior vp digital, the company said Tuesday.

Bouttier will report to WBTVG executive vp business management Craig Hunegs.

Bouttier will work across all the WBTVG divisions and oversee the domestic digital distribution of WBTVG's library of content as well as its original digital content. He also will supervise the execution of WBTVG's new-media initiatives while collaborating with the senior executive team on the development of the group's overall digital content and U.S. distribution strategy.

The areas of VOD and electronic sell-through of TV product will continue to be handled by Warner Bros. Digital Distribution, part of the Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group.

"Each of our television divisions shares a common DNA: content," WBTVG president Bruce Rosenblum said. "And each of our television divisions is actively experimenting and participating in new digital opportunities for our content. Brett's new role is a natural extension of all of our television businesses and will support and expand the domestic digital distribution efforts of each of our divisions."

Bouttier was vp new business and sales strategy for WBTVG's Telepictures Prods., where he oversaw wireless agreements for Telepictures' series, product integration and licensing deals with XM Satellite.

He joined Telepictures in 2004 after working at NBC Universal Television.
