Box Office Report: 'Lincoln' Crossing $100 Million in North America
Steven Spielberg's historical drama scored a leading seven Golden Globe nominations Thursday.
DreamWorks' Lincoln -- directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Daniel Day-Lewis as President Abraham Lincoln -- will cross the $100 million mark at the domestic box office Thursday after continuing to overperform since its Nov. 9 debut.
Lincoln, distributed domestically by Disney's Touchstone, also was celebrating its Golden Globes triumph. The drama landed seven nominations Thursday, the most of any film, including best motion drama, best director, best actor, best screenplay (Tony Kushner), best supporting actress (Sally Field) and best supporting actor (Tommy Lee Jones).

The film also stars David Strathairn, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, James Spader and Hal Holbrook.
On Wednesday, Lincoln received four SAG Award nominations, tying for the lead with Silver Linings Playbook and Les Miserables.
In the wake of the nominations, Lincoln will add another 271 theaters Friday, bringing its total count to 2,285.
“It was a 12-year struggle to get this film made," said Lincoln producer Kathleen Kennedy. "We are humbled and gratified to receive these nominations and to see how audiences have embraced it. To see this film cross $100 million after we were continually discouraged from making it is beyond what we could have ever hoped for."
