Boys and Girls Club to honor Focus exec

Linda Ditrinco to receive humanitarian nod from Queens org

Focus Features executive vp and general sales manager Linda Ditrinco will be honored with this year's humanitarian award of the Salah M. Hassanein Variety Boys and Girls Club of Queens.

A related fund-raiser will benefit the club's recreational and educational facility in Astoria, N.Y.

"Linda is one of the motion picture industry's true friends and consummate professionals who commands the respect and admiration of all who know her," club president Su Robotti said. "With our close ties to the New York area, this year's honor is extra special, as Linda represents all that is great about New York City."

At Focus, Ditrinco has managed the distribution of high-profile films including "Lost in Translation," "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind," "The Motorcycle Diaries," "Atonement," "The Pianist," "The Constant Gardener," "Milk" and "Brokeback Mountain."

Before joining Focus, she was a national sales exec for USA Films and earlier worked at Gramercy Pictures, Vestron Pictures and Triumph Releasing.

Ditrinco is an active supporter of a number of charities and health researchers, including City Harvest of New York; New York City Rescue Mission; NYU Medical Center; Alzheimer's Disease Research Fund; National Multiple Sclerosis Society; Cystic Fibrosis Foundation; Gay Men's Health Crisis; Leukemia & Lymphoma Society; Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation; Variety, the Children's Charity; and the Variety Boys and Girls Club of Queens.
