Bradley Cooper Visits Boston Bombing Victim Who Lost Legs (Photo)
The movie star wanders in as Jeff Bauman Jr., the man in a now-iconic photo, was paid a visit by New England Patriot Julian Edelman.
As 19-year-old Boston bombing suspect Dzokhar Tsarnaev is treated under heavy guard for serious but not life-threatening injuries at Beth Israel Deaconsess Medical Center -- the same Boston hospital where 11 of his victims are currently recovering from their injuries -- another seriously wounded victim at nearby Boston Medical Center got a surprise visit on Friday from Bradley Cooper.
Jeff Bauman Jr., 27, lost both of his legs below the knees in Monday's terrible terrorist attack. In a photo posted to the Twitter page of New England Patriot Julian Edelman, who also visited Bauman at his bedside, the 38-year-old Silver Linings Playbook star can be seen smiling next to Bauman, who is clutching a football in his left hand while giving the camera a thumb's up with his right.
"Visited #survivor #stud #hero Jeffrey Bauman Jr. today," Edelman writes. "He was looking great and is a true inspiration. #strong."
The football star and movie star did not plan to visit together, Edelman tells People.com. Cooper just "showed up out of the blue." Bauman was the man seen being pushed away from the scene in a wheelchair in a widely circulated Associated Press photo.
Cooper, in town shooting Silver Linings director David O. Russell's follow-up, American Hustle -- which saw production temporarily shut down during the tense manhunt for Tsarnaev -- also attended the interfaith service where President Barack Obama paid tribute to the victims and first-responders.
