Bradley Whitford Joins Fox Spy Drama from 'Locke & Key' Creator
The “West Wing” actor will play a station chief opposite Ali Larter's CIA field operative character in "The Asset."
Fox’s spy drama The Asset is adding The West Wing’s Bradley Whitford.
The Emmy-winning actor, who more recently starred in Fox’s short-lived drama The Good Guys, signed on to the Josh Friedman drama. The project, which hails from 20th Century Fox, revolves around a female agent set in the New York office of the CIA.
Whitford, who recently guested on such shows as Law & Order: Los Angeles, The Mentalist and USA’s In Plain Sight, will play the New York CIA station chief opposite Ali Larter's CIA field operative character.
For his part, Friedman (Locke & Key, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) inked a three-year deal with 20th TV last summer. The pact entailed working on his own projects as well as joining The Finder as a consulting producer.
The drama pilot joins Kevin Williamson's untitled serial killer drama and Greg Berlanti's legal drama Guilty, both ordered to pilot at the News Corp-owned network.
Whitford, whose other small screen credits include Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, is repped by WME, Greenlight Management and Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz.
