The creator, music supervisor and composer for the hit TV drama Breaking Bad will discuss the growing importance of music in the series at the Billboard/Hollywood Reporter Film and TV Music Conference.

'Breaking Bad' Creator Vince Gilligan Extends Deal with Sony Pictures TV

Show creator Vince Gilligan, composer Dave Porter and music supervisor Thomas Golubic will speak Oct. 24 at the two-day conference being held at the W Hotel in Hollywood. Currently in its fifth season, Breaking Bad received 13 Emmy nominations for its fourth season on AMC, among them best drama and a directing nod for Gilligan.

Sony's Madison Gate Records will release a soundtrack album of Porter's music, Breaking Bad: Original Score From the Television Series, on Aug. 28. The soundtrack will feature 20 tracks from all five seasons. Sony Pictures Entertainment Television produces Breaking Bad.

The show has been honored with Emmys and awards from the Writers Guild of America, the Television Critics Association and the American Film Institute. Porter and Golubic have been with the show since it debuted in 2008.

The Breaking Bad panel joins a roster of previously announced panels that cover composing for film and TV, the inner-workings of advertising's music space and the tastes and needs of today's cutting edge music supervisors. Composer Gustavo Santaolalla and Epic Records chairman/X Factor judge Antonio "L.A." Reid will deliver keynote Q&As.

For the first time, the conference will provide an opportunity for musicians to get their music heard and evaluated by 10 music representatives actively pitching music for placement in film, TV and commercials. The conference will also include panels on composing, music supervision, advertising, publishing and career-building plus case studies on hit TV shows and films, live performances, one-on-one sessions and networking opportunities.
