The music industry vet has worked closely with U2, Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, Metallica and Depeche Mode.
Concert industry veteran Brian Murphy is jumping ship from Live Nation to AEG Live. Starting January 18, Murphy will focus on booking and developing AEG Live’s venues on the West Coast, AEG’s CEO Randy Phillips said in a statement announcing Murphy's position as President West Coast, AEG Live.
In Murphy's previous role as Senior Vice President of Business Development for Live Nation’s Los Angeles Music division, he worked closely with such artists as U2, Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, Metallica, Depeche Mode, Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Muse.
“It is very rare for an entertainment company like AEG Live to have the opportunity and good fortune to hire an executive with Brian Murphy's reputation, relationships, experience, and entrepreneurial ability,” said Phillips. “The combination of Brian and Paul Tollett, CEO of Goldenvoice and producer of the Coachella and Stagecoach music Festivals, will further solidify AEG Live's standing and reputation as the industry leader on the west coast and an even better partner for our artists and their representatives.”
