'Brideshead' revisited by HanWay Films
HanWay, the U.K.-based international sales, distribution and marketing company will partner with British production banner Ecosse Films, headed by Douglas Rae and Robert Bernstein.
Production on the project, adapted by Andrew Davies and Jeremy Brock, is scheduled to begin this spring. The Evelyn Waugh novel on which the film is based, a story of forbidden love and the loss of innocence, previously spawned a critically acclaimed TV version.
The movie will shoot on location in Oxford and Venice and casting is being finalized.
Founded in 1998, HanWay arranges financing, sales and distribution for films from Oscar-winner Jeremy Thomas' shingle, Recorded Picture Co., as well as third-party producers and directors.
The company also manages film libraries, including titles by Merchant Ivory, Peter Weir and Wim Wenders as well as the RPC and HanWay libraries.
