'Bridge of Spies' to Open Poland's Camerimage Festival
Tom Hanks and Mark Rylance star in Steven Spielberg's Cold War thriller.
Steven Spielberg's Bridge of Spies will open this year's Camerimage Festival in Poland on Nov.14.
The Cold War thriller, based on real events involving a spy exchange on Berlin's Glienicke Bridge in 1962, stars Tom Hanks, Mark Rylance, Alan Alda and Amy Ryan.
Oscar-winning cinematographer Janusz Kaminski, a frequent Spielberg collaborator, lensed Bridge of Spies. The Polish-born cameraman has been a frequent visitor to the Camerimage Festival, the top festival worldwide dedicated to the art of cinematography. Kaminski, who won Oscars for his shooting of Saving Private Ryan and Schindler's List, won Camerimage's Golden Frog honor in 2007 for his work on Julian Schnabel's The Diving Bell and the Butterfly.
Bridge of Spies will have its Polish premiere at the festival in a gala event at the Opera Nova's Main Hall in Bydgoszcz. The film bows in Poland Nov. 27 via local distributor Imperial.
