Brit Awards 2015: Kanye West Censored on U.K. TV During Performance
The performance of his newest track, "All Day," was muted for "compliance reasons."
Kanye West may not have charged the stage during the Brit Awards on Wednesday night, but he did suffer the indignation of having his performance of his newest track, “All Day,” largely muted on U.K. TV.
The telecast of the ceremony on U.K. broadcaster ITV saw the song peppered with silence, prompting widespread confusion on Twitter.
An ITV source later told The Hollywood Reporter that the broadcast had been muted for "compliance reasons," which indicates it was due to language.
The Brit Awards, which are the U.K.'s equivalent of the Grammys, took place Wednesday night at the O2 Arena in London. Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith took home two honors each.
