Brooke Posch Named VP of Programming and Development at Comedy Central
The former MTV exec will head up production of all East Coast-based pilots and series.
Comedy Central has named Brooke Posch vp original programming and development.
The announcement came Tuesday from Kent Alterman, head of original programming and development, to whom Posch will report. Posch will oversee development and production of all East Coast-based original pilots and series.
Posch comes to Comedy Central from sister network MTV, where she was vp comedy and animation since 2009 and where she oversaw development of series including The Substitute, Epic Fail and World of Jenks. She also developed a late-night talk show with comedians Nikki Glaser and Sara Schaefer as well as a half-hour Latina comedy with Jennifer Lopez’s Nuyorican Productions. Prior MTV, Posch was with Crossroads Television, where she developed projects for Nickelodeon, IFC, MTV, VH1 and Bravo.
"Brooke has established a fantastic reputation in the comedy community for great taste, impeccable creative instincts and superior collaborative skills,” said Alterman in a statement. “She will undoubtedly make me appear to be smarter than I am. I thank her in advance and look forward to meeting her."
Posch replaces senior vp programming and development Lisa Leingang, who left in March when her contract was not renewed.
