Bruce Jenner Tops Friday Worldwide Twitter Trend
Excluding sports, the Jenner interview is ranked as the most social Friday telecast of all time.
In a two-hour exclusive interview with Diane Sawyer on Friday evening, Bruce Jenner revealed "I am a woman."
The emotional ABC special made its mark on social media during, and after, the 20/20 episode. Nielsen ratings showed that the top Twitter hashtags of the evening included: #brucejennerabc, #brucejenner, #brucejennerinterview, #brave and #bebraveenoughtobekind.
During the interview's airing, Jenner topped the worldwide Twitter trend. Nielsen Social reports that in the U.S., 8.1 million people saw one or more of 972,000 tweets sent about Bruce Jenner: The Interview on Friday.
Nielsen Social also reports that 403,000 people sent the tweets, which were viewed 139 million times. Excluding sports, the Jenner interview is ranked as the most social Friday telecast of all time.
Oprah, Kim Kardashian and Lady Gaga were among celebrities that showed their support on Twitter.
