Producer and songwriter Philip Lawrence, known best for his work with Bruno Mars, has signed with Paradigm.
The Grammy winner on Thursday also announced the launch of PHILMAR, a new combination record label and multimedia entertainment company, which also will be represented by the agency.
Lawrence has been Mars' longtime collaborator, going back to such hits as “Just the Way You Are," “Grenade,” “When I Was Your Man,” “Treasure” and “Locked Out of Heaven,” all of which he co-produced. He also is credited on FloRida’s “Right ‘Round,” Ceelo Green’s “F*You,” B.O.B.’s “Nothing on You" and Travie McCoy’s “Billionaire," in addition to the 2014 animated movie Rio 2, in which he voiced the character Felipe and performed on the song “It’s a Jungle Out Here."
Most recently, Lawrence co-wrote and produced Mark Ronson's "Uptown Funk," a 2015 staple featuring Mars which remained in the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for 14 consecutive weeks. Lawrence also won a Grammy for it.
PHILMAR's first projects include the artists Dave Gibson and Christian/gospel duo The Lawrences as well as a TV series with producer Jojo Ryder based on an original character that Philip created.
