A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has ordered Buena Vista Home Entertainment to pay $1.5 million in legal fees in a breach of contract lawsuit involving home video distribution rights to "The Patriot."

The award follows the court's decision last October that Buena Vista pay $6.5 million to Ilshin Investment Co., which loaned millions to producers to make the film. The court found Buena Vista intentionally retained more than $3 million in distributions reimbursements, well over an agreed upon $900,000 cap and that it cost at least $800,000 in lost sales after it decided to stop distributing the film.
