Burgundy Suits: Is This the Hottest Color in Hollywood Right Now?
Donald Glover in Burberry, Cameron Dallas in Vince Camuto, and Robbie Rogers in Zegna are just a few of the men who have stepped out in Tinseltown looking fly in wine-colored ensembles.
When Courtney B. Vance accepted his Critics' Choice Award for best actor in a limited series for his work on The People vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, he hugged co-star Sterling K. Brown, who was onstage to present the prize alongside Milo Ventimiglia.
"Sterling, nice suit you got on there," praised Vance, wearing a dark burgundy John Varvatos tuxedo, before taking notice of one of the day's big red carpet trends. "It's the burgundy suit club today."
And that it was. Not only was Brown standing there, in a wine-colored Kenneth Cole, but on his way to the stage, the camera showed Vance chairs away from John Travolta in a burgundy velvet tuxedo blazer, and seconds later hugging People vs. O.J. mastermind Ryan Murphy, also in burgundy, but his by Tom Ford. (Not far away was fellow winner Donald Glover in burgundy Burberry.)
Dark, rich colors are always on trend during the winter months, but it seems that the Critics' Choice Awards "burgundy suit club" got the same memo that other stars like Joel Edgerton, Cameron Dallas and Robbie Rogers received in recent weeks. They each stepped out in similar looks, and below are a few more.
