Busan 2012: 'Captive,' 'Here And There' and 'Purge' Among European Titles in Busan
26 European films from 18 Euro sales companies will set up shop at Busan's Asian Film Market.
More than two dozen new European films, including Finland's Oscar contender Purge from Antti Jokinen, Marco Bellocchio's Dormant Beauty, the Spainish-language drama Here And There from director Antonio Mendez Esparza and Andrzej Jakimowski's Polish feature Imagine will be screening at Busan's Asian Film Market, which runs Oct. 8-11 in Busan, South Korea.
Film marketing support group European Film Promotion (EFP) which is backed by the European Union's MEDIA program, will provide film sales support to a total of 26 titles in Busan this year.
Other features backed by EFP in Busan this year include Volker Schlondorff's Calm At Sea, which France's WIDE is selling; Brillante Mendoza's Berlin Film Festival entry Captive from sales agent Films Distribution and British drama Shell from director Scott Graham, which BAC Films is selling internationally.
For the seventh year running, the EFP will set up an umbrella booth for European sales companies in Busan, providing meeting space for 18 European sales agents as well as for representative from national film organizations. EFP will also hold an industry networking reception in Busan where it will present the delegation of 19 European directors attending the South Korean event.
