2 ON MOVE AT VIVENDI

Soumya Sriraman has been promoted to senior vp theatrical marketing and Yolanda Macias has been upped to senior vp business development and acquisitions at Vivendi Entertainment. Formerly vp marketing and operations, Sriraman will be responsible for all aspects of theatrical marketing including publicity, promotions, media and creative services as Vivendi Entertainment expands from DVD distribution into theatrical releasing. Macias, who was vp business development and acquisitions, will be charged with acquiring films from independent producers and suppliers.

BVA: HOME VID BIG

The latest figures from the British Video Assn. show the U.K. home entertainment industry bucking the economic trends and continuing to exhibit volume growth. Sales in the first half are up 3.3% compared with the same period last year thanks to the increased level of consumer choice provided by HD formats, the BVA said Monday, adding that Blu-ray Discs are up 506% year to date and have a 1.2% share in the total market.

BARRON'S: TW 'CHEAP'

Shares of Time Warner fell Monday even though Barron's called the shares of the media and entertainment giant "stunningly cheap" and predicted a rebound. CEO Jeff Bewkes "has delivered" with the spinoff of TW's stake in Time Warner Cable, Barron's said, but investors have continued to sell the stock, which also could get a boost from a potential sale of the AOL access business.
