The cable provider and CBS announced on Tuesday that they had reached a new multi-year carriage agreement.

Cablevision will be the first cable or satellite TV provider to distribute CBS All Access and Showtime Internet services to its Optimum online customers under a new multi-year content carriage agreement that the cable operator reached with CBS Corp.

Financial terms of the new deal, announced on Tuesday, were not disclosed, but the latest pact covers retransmission rights for CBS-owned stations, Showtime, CBS Sports Network and the Smithsonian Channel.

"This comprehensive new agreement builds on our strong relationship with CBS and ensures that every Optimum customer gets the highly popular CBS content they want across multiple platforms and screens,” said Tom Montemagno, executive vp programming at Cablevision, in a statement.

Ray Hopkins, president, TV networks distribution at CBS, in his own statement said Cablevision was a "terrific partner" and the network looked forward to providing CBS and Showtime programming to shared viewers.

Pricing and timing on the online carriage deal will be announced at a later date.
