Cameron Silver's New Gig Is Revealed
After teasing social media followers about his move from his native L.A. to New York, we now know what led him to go east: Silver will be leading the launch of H by Halston for QVC.
When Cameron Silver made the decision to leave L.A. for a "mystery" job in New York last month, he left a slew of buzzing reporters in his wake who all wondered what could be next for the founder of Decades, Silver's vintage couture store on Melrose Avenue and the jewel of SoCal's eye.
However, after a month of suspense, the King of Vintage's new post finally has been revealed. Silver has been named the fashion director of H by Halston, a contemporary collection "inspired by the essence" of the American brand that will debut this September exclusively for QVC.
The 128-piece collection, which includes caftans, jumpsuits, knits and dresses, as well as a small offering of shoes and accessories, is priced between $32 (for a knit top) and $339 (for a leather tote). According to a press release, the line "brings a present-day sensibility to Halston's design aesthetic."
As the fashion director, Silver not only will oversee the line but also serve as the on-air personality for the QVC spot. Xcel Brands, which acquired the H by Halston and Halston lines in December 2014, found the former celebrity stylist and reality TV star to be "uniquely qualified to speak about Halston’s evolution and its latest collection, H by Halston."
"It is a privilege to represent such a storied American brand in the interactive media space," Silver said in a statement about his new role. "I am looking forward to working with both Xcel and QVC on this new endeavor."
