Canada's Cineflix Media Hires Jodi Flynn in Los Angeles
Continuing the Canadian TV producer's U.S. expansion, the former Screaming Flea Productions development exec will help bring global formats to Hollywood.
TORONTO – Canadian producer Cineflix Media is ramping up its effort to bring global formats to Hollywood by hiring former Screaming Flea Productions development exec Jodi Flynn.
Flynn, whose TV credits include A&E’s Hoarders, will work in the Canadian company’s Los Angeles office alongside Lisa Levenson (The Bachelor) as executive VP of programming.
Her role is generating still more reality series from Cineflix for major U.S. cable networks as the Montreal-based producer aggressively expands in the U.S. market.
“We will divide up the networks and have our own slates that we’re working on and build those relationships,” Flynn explained.
Pulling together the varied international production strands of Cineflix, Flynn will also work with Charles Tremayne in the New York office, and Joe Houlihan in Toronto, while reporting to Cineflix Productions CEO Simon Lloyd.
Cineflix last year hired Levenson, a veteran reality TV producer, to launch a Los Angeles office and bring Hollywood talent and partners into the mix.
While serving as VP of development for Screaming Flea Productions, Flynn also developed My Shopping Addiction for Oxygen and Three Sheets for Spike.
Flynn is also looking to learn new areas of the TV business as Cineflix expands into scripted dramas, most recently with Copper for BBC America, and international distribution.
“They’re a company that does a lot in other avenues, and the opportunity to learn about those areas of the business is extremely appealing for me,” Flynn said, explaining her move to Cineflix Media.
