Canada's Peace Point Entertainment Launches Distribution Outfit
Former Powercorp International exec Eric Muller has been tapped to lead the sales division, which will be formally launched at MIP TV.
TORONTO – Canadian indie producer Peace Point Entertainment Group is forming a distribution arm, Peace Point Rights.
The new division aims to acquire TV product for Canadian and international distribution as Peace Point Rights partners with broadcasters, online content distributors and producers globally.
Toronto-based Peace Point hired Eric Muller, formerly vp of international sales at London-based Powercorp International, to become vp of international sales and acquisitions at Peace Point Rights.
Also coming on board is Julie Chang as vp of business affairs and North American acquisitions after she was most recently vp of business and legal affairs with Behind the Scenes Services.
Peace Point Rights is debuting at MIP TV with a full slate of factual and lifestyle series produced by Peace Point Entertainment, while it also seeks product acquisitions at the TV market.
Among the offerings is Bump!, a gay-themed travel show, Hammer and Chew: Lords of Junk, where John “The Hammer” Netherway and Chris Chew discover no trash is too terrible to tackle, and Fresh with Anna Olson, a food show hosted by Canadian TV chef Anna Olson.
Peace Point already has its hand in the U.S. market via Peace Point Entertainment USA, which is represented by CAA, and Peace Point Digital, which develops, produces and finances transmedia projects and mobile content.
