The new agreement also covers all previous 'Star Wars' films, as well as Pixar and Marvel titles and ABC series including 'Desperate Housewives' and 'Lost.'
France's CanalPlus group has extended its wide-ranging programming deal with Disney Media Distribution, securing French pay-TV and SVOD rights to numerous films and TV series, including J.J. Abrams' hotly-anticipated Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens.
The new deal, which kicks off in January, also includes all the previous Star Wars titles and several films from Marvel Studios and Pixar.
On the series side, CanalPlus' SVOD service CanalPlay will continue to carry the ABC Studios on Demand offering, which includes the entire box sets of shows such as Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives and Lost.
