Cannes 2012: Industry Vet Michael Wrenn Joins Arclight Films to Ramp Up Aussie Ops
Wrenn brings three projects including Ivan San’s "Mystery Road" starring Aaron Pedersen to Arclight's sales slate.
Indie film sales banner Arclight Films has hired veteran indie operator Michael Wrenn, ramping up the company's public face in Australia.
Arclight, boasting offices in Los Angeles, Sydney, Hong Kong and Toronto, brings Wrenn into its Sydney operations.
Wrenn, has more than 20 years in the indie film industry world and has worked in sales and acquisitions, executive producing, production, development and distribution.
He recently established Curious Films Australia with an advertising production company of the same name and prior to that has been head of distribution for Alliance/Momentum.
Said Wrenn: “I’ve enjoyed working with Gary Hamilton and the Arclight team in various capacities for years. I’m looking forward to this new and wonderful opportunity to help the company in its expansion and strengthen its Australian arm."
Wrenn adds to Arclight’s library with films including Ivan San’s Mystery Road starring Aaron Pedersen and produced by David Jowsey scheduled to go into production in July.
Also on Wrenn's roster is Pinky Pinky by Zoe LaBand with Jeremy Nathan producing and The World Made Straight, an adaptation of the Ron Rash novel by the same name to be directed by David Burris and produced by Todd Labarowsky.
“Michael [Wrenn] is the perfect addition to the Arclight Films family and his distinct knowledge of the Australian territories, from all angles, is an invaluable asset, ” said Arclight Films managing director Hamilton.
