Cannes: Spike Lee, Wim Wenders Among American Pavilion Lineup

Conversations and panels will take place May 19-25.

Spike Lee, Wim Wenders, John Cameron Mitchell, Karen Allen and Eugene Jarecki are among the filmmakers who will take part in the discussions and panels that will be held at the American Pavilion during the course of the 2017 Cannes Film Festival.

Lee will be joined by his longtime collaborator Roger Guenveur Smith, who stars in Lee’s current one-man Netflix film, Rodney King, on May 22.

Wenders will take part in an industry panel on “Making Movies That Matter,” scheduled for May 25.

Mitchell will discuss his new film How to Talk to Girls at Parties on May 25.

On May 24, Allen will take part in a conversation about the new short film she has directed A Tree. A Rock. A Cloud with producer Diane Pearlman.

Jarecki has been tapped to talk about his new film Promised Land, to be moderated by Chaz Ebert, on May 22.

The American Pavilion’s series of events, overseen by AmPav director Julie Sisk and open to all AmPav members, will be held at the Roger Ebert Conference Center and run May 19-25.
