Cannes Best Red-Carpet Moment: Furry Giant From German Comedy 'Toni Erdmann' Ranks No. 1
From Julia Roberts' move to ditch the heels to Naomi Watts, Susan Sarandon and Shia LaBeouf's impromptu dance parties, THR counts down the best moments from the Cannes 2016 red carpet.
THR ranked the best moments from the 2016 Cannes Film Festival red carpet, beginning with Julia Roberts kicking her heels off at the Money Monster premiere.
Dance parties seemed to be the norm at this year's festival, with good friends Naomi Watts and Susan Sarandon shaking it on the carpet and the Shia LaBeouf-led cast of Andrea Arnold's American Honey showing off their moves at the film's premiere.
But the top red-carpet moment was stolen by the massive furry giant seen in Maren Ade's German comedy Toni Erdmann, which made a surprise appearance on the Croisette. The film was picked as one of the best of the festival by THR's chief film critic, Todd McCarthy.
