Cannes: Content Film Sells U.S. Rights for 'Outpost III' to XLrator Media
Kieran Parker will make his directorial debut with the third zombie horror film in the series.
U.S. rights for Outpost III: Rise of the Spetsnaz have been sold by Content Film to XLrator Media, which also released the second film in the British zombie horror series, Outpost II: Black Sun.
Handling worldwide sales for the film, Content has also sold it in several international territories including the U.K. (Entertainment One), Canada (Mongrel), Germany and Benelux (Splendid), Portugal (Lusomundo), Middle East (Gulf Film), China (HGC Entertainment), CIS and Baltic States (Top Film), Japan (Aya Pro), South Korea (Sonamu), Hong Kong (Panorama) and Tawain (Catchplay).
Kieran Parker, who produced 2008’s Outbreak and 2012 sequel Black Sun, will make his directorial debut with Rise of the Spetsnaz, which is an origins story about the supernatural soldiers. It stars Bryan Larkin, returning to play Russian Dolokhav, and Ultimate Combat World Heavy Weight Champion James “The Colossus” Thompson.
Screening for the first time at the Cannes market, Rise of the Spetsnaz is produced by Black Camel Pictures’ Arabella Page Croft and Parker, and executive produced by Matador Pictures’ Nigel Thomas and Content Film’s Jamie Carmichael.
XLrator MEedia also recently bought U.S. rights to Ironclad: Battle for the Blood.
