Cannes: Jessica Hausner's 'Amour Fou' Sells for Germany, Sweden
The period film focusing on the life of German romantic poet Henrich von Kleist debuts in Cannes' Un Certain Regard section on Friday.
Amour Fou, Jessica Hausner's period film depicting the life – and death by suicide – of 19th century German romantic poet Henrich von Kleist, has closed a series of deals ahead of its world premiere in Cannes' Un Certain Regard sidebaron Friday.
Austrian sales group The Coproduction Office sold Amour Fou to Neue Visionen in Germany, Folkets Bio in Sweden, Lumiere in Benelux and Austrian distributor Stadtkino.
Amour Fou stars Christian Friedel as von Kleist and newcomer Birte Schnoeink as Henriette, the friend with whom he entered as suicide pact.
